What is it like to learn, mentor or teach during the first college year? At CMU, learning is active, engaging, and collaborative. In FYE, students, mentors and faculty work together to create meaningful learning experiences that involve cooperation, challenge and experiential explorations. As one student noted in the final course evaluation, "FYE is the best class I've taken at CMU. It made me get out, explore and connect with people and resources that I never knew existed. Because I FYE, I completed research, made great friends, created a four-year plan for completing my degree and gained confidence in myself."
