The First Year Experience Program offers resources, opportunities and sources of evidence to advance teaching and learning during the first year of college. The specific focus of FYE is to raise academic performance through innovative educational options and connections that support the transition to life and learning for first-year and transfer students.

The annual FYE essay competition provides students with an opportunity to contribute their ideas toward local and global issues.
FY E-Newsletters
Each week, FYE posts ideas to support teaching and learning during the first college year. These newsletters focus on active and experiential learning strategies and resources to bring learning to life. Focusing on the many connections available to students, each newsletter offers ideas to assist in the translation of ideas and theory to practice thereby fostering the possibility for deep, meaningful learning.
