FYE: Advisory Council

Advisory Council

What is the FYE Advisory Council?

The FYE Advisory Council serves as the incubator for new ideas, policies, and strategies meant to raise academic performance during the first college year. Representing each college and most student service offices, the FYE Advisory Council works to understand the needs of first-year students, advise the FYE Coordinator, and make recommendations to both the FYE Coordinator and Vice-Provost for Academic Affairs.

Specifically, members of the council make recommendations about the future of the FYE Program. They screen and evaluate applications from faculty and staff interested in teaching FYE 101, review program evaluation practices and outcome reports, advise on curricular changes, and promote innovation and change initiatives to enhance the first college year.
